Copilot works in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Teams to draft, analyze data, create presentations, and summarize email. Premium and Pro plans add agentic research and analytics. 1

jo uses connected work-and-life context to prepare research, plans, drafts, reminders, and browser-assisted tasks. It keeps the user in control of consequential work.

What carries over?

Copilot does not automatically import chat history, memory, or saved preferences from other AI tools. Microsoft suggests bringing important context into Copilot through files or Microsoft 365 services. 1

jo maintains relevant context across conversations, projects, and connected sources. It can surface briefings and recurring autopilot results before you ask.

Where does each work?

Microsoft 365 Personal supports PCs, Macs, phones, and tablets. Copilot is available as a mobile app and inside Microsoft 365 apps, with feature availability varying by device and language. 1

jo works on Apple Silicon Mac and web, with mobile access through mobile web, iMessage, WhatsApp, and Telegram. There is no native mobile app yet.
